The 14th Extraordinary Meeting of the ACS Ministerial Council

The 14th Extraordinary Meeting of the ACS Ministerial Council, presided over by Colombia's Foreign Minister, Luis Gilberto Murillo, took place within the framework of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, UNGA79.

During the meeting, ACS Secretary General Rodolfo Sabonge and Minister Murillo signed the Agreement that lays the foundation for the 10th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Greater Caribbean, scheduled for May 2025 in Colombia.

The Secretary General also welcomed the formal presentation of Colombia's proposal to establish the Joint Oceanographic Research Center of the Greater Caribbean in collaboration with the Republic of Korea, and Colombia's work plan for its 2024-2025 chairmanship under the theme "United for Life: Towards a More Sustainable Greater Caribbean," which promotes proactive diplomacy that strengthens a blue and green agenda focused on climate justice, connectivity, and the protection of oceans and biodiversity.
