ACS meets Peru

ACS Secretary General, Rodolfo Sabonge, together with Director of Cooperation Ingrid Jacobs and Director of Trade and Sustainable Development, Safiya Horne-Bique, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Peru to Trinidad and Tobago, H.E. David Malaga, and the First Secretary and Consul of Peru, Natalia Navarro. They discussed Peru's interest in establishing alliances to strengthen the tourism sector in the region and better link the Greater Caribbean and this southern country to reactivate this vital sector for the region and also for Peru. They will also continue with the negotiation of a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Peru and the ACS, the next tourism fair in Lima, Peru, to be held on June 17 and 18, for which they expect the support of the ACS to circulate it among its Member States. Other topics of interest to Peru are disaster risk and the environment. Peru's offer to provide scholarships to the region for the training of professionals in tourism and gastronomy was discussed, which will form part of this Memorandum of Understanding.
