Promote and facilitate debate on Special and Differential Treatment of Small Economies in the Greater Caribbean
The Association of Caribbean States by nature is the best suited to discuss issues related to integration and its effects in the Greater Caribbean, analyzing the impact of the processes of international negotiations on the more vulnerable Economies of the region, as well as matters concerning the impact of free trade on poverty reduction and/or improvement in the quality of life of small economies.
The ACS contributes to this objective: It facilitates debate on the nature and scope of special and differential treatment to be granted to countries in recognition of the differences in size and development in the various trade agreements, the different measures that may be used for implementation and the guidelines to determine the countries that could access same.
