World Wetlands Day 2024

World Wetlands Day 2024

The ACS is happy to commemorate World Wetlands Day 2024!  On February 2nd, we shine a light on the invaluable role wetlands play in our ecosystem. From supporting diverse wildlife to providing essential ecosystem services, wetlands are crucial for our planet and our region. This year's theme, "Wetlands and Human Wellbeing," underscores the importance of recognizing, restoring, and conserving these vital habitats and the essential ecosystem services they provide to our communities.

In the Greater Caribbean, wetlands play a crucial role as an important nature-based solution to build regional climate change resilience. World wetlands day is a timely opportunity to raise awareness about the challenges faced globally and promote wetland restoration and conservation.
